French Minister of Health Genevieve Darrieussecq told the French newspaper Le Parisien that the number of poisoning cases in young people based on the consumption of nicotine sachets and similar products is increasing and that she regrets this.
Darrieussecq pointed out that the target audience of the advertisements of these products is young people and stated that she wants to protect young people.
Stating that the government has decided to ban the consumption of nicotine sachets and similar products, Darrieussecq announced that the decision in this direction will be issued in the coming weeks.
Darrieussecq emphasized that these products with high nicotine dose are dangerous and said, “It is our duty to ban their marketing.” Nicotine sachets, which resemble small tea bags that are widely used among young people, are sold in different flavors.
